Village Clerk/Treasurer

Welcome to the office of the Village Clerk – Treasurer. The Village Clerk – Treasurer office keeps all of the official records for the Village of Neosho, including the agendas and adopted minutes of Village government meetings, and copies of the Village of Neosho Ordinances. The Village Clerk – Treasurer’s office maintains all of the voting equipment and collects, tabulates, and reports election results, and is in charge of all elections and polling places.

The Village – Clerk Treasurer is also responsible for:
Issuing of Municipal Licenses as required by local ordinance and State statute including: alcohol, bartender, fermented beverage, and cigarettes.
Maintaining special assessment records for the Village of Neosho.
Preserving all contracts, bonds, and oaths of office.
Posting of all legal notices.
Safekeeping and maintaining all election records as required by the laws of the State of Wisconsin and Voter Registration records.
Preparation of the Budget.
Collection of the Property Taxes and Personal Property Taxes.

How to Register to Vote

There are three ways in which an Elector may Register to Vote:

1. By Mail: Download the Application for Voter Registration (GAB-131), complete the form and mail it to your municipal clerk’s office up to 5:00 p.m. on the 3rd Wednesday before the election. Neosho Municipal Clerk, PO Box 178, Neosho, WI 53059.
(Proof of Residence is required for any elector, who is not a military or overseas elector, who registers by mail and has not previously voted in an election in Wisconsin. A Copy must be included when submitting the registration application. If it not included, the elector will be required to supply it before being issued a ballot.)

2. In Person: Register in the clerk’s office before the election.

3. At the Polling Place on Election Day: If you wish to register to vote at your polling place, you must bring proof that you have lived at your present location for 10 days preceding the election. For the purposes of voter registration, the identifying document constitutes acceptable proof of residence if it includes:
a. A current and complete name, including both the given and family name and
b. A current and complete residential address, including a numbered street address and name of municipality.

Identifying documents must be valid on the day that and elector makes application for registration in order to constitute proof of residence.

Proof of Residence
1. A current and valid Wisconsin Driver’s License or Wisconsin Identification card issued by the Department of Transportation.
2. Any other official identification card or license issued by Wisconsin governmental body or unit.
3. An official identification card or license issued by an employer in the normal course of business.
4. A real estate or tax bill or receipt for the current year or the year preceding the date of the election.
5. A residential lease which is effective for a period that includes the Election day – except for first time voters registering by mail.
6. A university, college, or technical institute fee card or identification card.
7. A gas, electric, or telephone service statement commencing not earlier than 90 days before the election.
8. A bank statement.
9. A pay check.
10. A Check or other document issued by a unit of government.

Absentee Voting

Absentee Ballots are usually available three weeks prior to Election Day.   A registered voter may make a request for absentee ballot in writing.  Download the application for absentee ballot.

Voting Location

There is one voting location in the Village of Neosho.
210 S Schuyler Street
On Election days polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Property Tax Payments

Mail Tax Payments to Village of Neosho – Treasurer, P O Box 178, Neosho, WI 53059. If you would like- a receipt, please enclose a self-addressed stamped return envelope.

You may pay in person at the Village Hall during posted hours.

Escrow Refunds will be mailed to the property owner within 10 business days.

Escrow Checks – Please make sure to sign the back of the check.

Real Estate Taxes

1st Installment is payable to the Village of Neosho – Treasurer by January 31.

Full Payments are payable to the Village of Neosho – Treasurer by January 31.

2nd Installment is payable to the Dodge County Treasurer by July 31.

Questions concerning your tax bill after January 31 may be directed to the Dodge County Treasurer’s Office 920-386-3782.

Personal Property Taxes

Full Payment is due to the Village of Neosho -Treasurer by January 31.

Late Payments

If you are late in paying your taxes, you will be charged a penalty and interest charge by Dodge County. Please contact the Dodge County Treasurer’s Office with questions about late payments. 920-386-3782.

Dog License

By Village Ordinance and State Statute all dogs over the age of 5 months require a dog license.  A dog license is required for any person in the Village to own, harbor or keep any dog. To obtain a dog license you may contact the Village Clerk – Treasurer during posted hours or you may send a check for $5 and proof of vaccination to Village of Neosho, PO Box 178, Neosho, WI 53059. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped return envelope for the license to be mailed back to you.

Liquor Licensing

Employment

The Village of Neosho Employment form follows.  Completed forms are kept on file for six months.  Upon completion the form should be returned to the Clerk-Treasurer.   Employment Application
